Jesus said, “Whatever you have done to the least of these, my brothers and sisters, you have done to me.”

Matthew 25.31 – 46

Jesus said, “A new commandment I give you, that you love one another, as I have loved you.”

John 13.34

The world can be a confusing place, and these are certainly troubled times. Following Jesus each day sometimes seems very difficult, or impossibly far away.

Actually, following Jesus is as close as the person next to you, and it’s as simple and straight forward as caring for that person, the way Jesus has always cared for and loved you.

Good Hope has made it our mission to serve God by serving people starting right here in Arlington, and then branching out as we are able to the wider world around us. Come join us! And let us together strive to love all of our neighbors, in the midst of every need.

The Food Pantry at Good Hope is open to serve clients, the second and fourth Thursdays of the month. We can also be available in the event of an emergency.

If you or someone you know is in need of assistance, you are encouraged to call the church office at 419.365.5582 to make an appointment. No one is turned away, and everything is done with complete confidentiality.

Every December, as the holidays draw near, Good Hope provides Christmas baskets to area families in need.

The Christmas basket drive usually begins early in November, keep an eye below for more detailed information.

A group of women at Good Hope gathers every Wednesday 1 pm, to continue the time-honored tradition of making quilts, most of which are shipped overseas, with some also being given out locally. Each year, these ladies produce around 400 quilts!

If you would like to help by donating fabric, or if you know how to quilt or would like to learn! — contact the church office at 419.365.5582 for more information.

Good Hope has been home to the Shining Stars Preschool and Daycare for 40 years now! Hundreds of children and their families have come through our program, and we thank God for each and every one of them.

The daycare is open Monday through Friday, 6:30 am to 6 pm. There are days when it is closed, and these generally are in line with the schedule of the Arlington public school. Children must be at least three years of age and potty trained. Children can be enrolled at any time.

Enrollment in the preschool is more limited, and generally opens to the public sometime in August.

For more information about either program, call the church office at 419.365.5582 and ask for the Shining Stars director.

The Red Cross regularly uses our building for blood drives, and eligible individuals are encouraged to donate.

For information about the next blood drive, and to make an appointment, contact the Red Cross at redcrossblood.org.

Please note that while walk ins are sometimes possible, the Red Cross greatly prefers that people make appointments in advance.

Good Hope is home to Boy Scout Troop 319.

In addition to its weekly meetings, our scouts do community service, go camping, and take some pretty awesome high adventure trips to places like the Florida Coast, and the boundary waters in Minnesota!

For more information, you can drop in on one of our scout meetings and ask a few questions. These meetings take place in the church, Tuesdays at 7 pm.

You can also learn more about scouting in our area at blackswampbsa.org.
